Steve Bennett

Steve Bennett, Irish Comedian of the Year 2016/17, is Ireland’s most endearing comedic talent. Bennett blends charming wit and musical comedy in a style which he calls “existential whimsy”. With a charismatic and energetic presence, Chortle has named Bennett “an adept entertainer with an engagingly wry sense of humour”.

As an emerging talent, Bennett supported notable acts such as Milton Jones, Abandoman & Deirdre O’Kane.  After winning multiple awards and curating numerous comedy events nationwide,  2018  is set to be Bennett’s most exciting year yet. An international tour including shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne  & Edinburgh along with a mini tour May-July and a solo tour in November. When he’s not jet-setting, you can catch Bennett headlining and MCing gigs around Ireland. Few acts can match his blistering pace and razor sharp wit.

Before Bennett received the largest prize in Irish comedy, his achievements included winning Show Me The Funny (2014) and Best Newcomer at the UK Musical Comedy Awards (2014).

Bennett is well established on the Irish and British circuit. He has performed three solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. A festival staple, he plays Electric Picnic, Body & Soul and Longitude annually. In 2016,  he performed as part of ‘Best of the Fest’ at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival alongside Glenn Wool, Tommy Tiernan, Jason Manford and Fred Cooke. In 2017 he hosted for acts like Rich Hall and Kevin Bridges. Other notable acts he’s supported include Colin Murphy, Spencer Jones, Judah Friedlander, Mick Foley and Foil Arms & Hog. Steve also toured with Abandoman in 2016.

Bennett is an experienced comedy coordinator producing and promoting many shows.
Steve also MCs at a variety of events including corporate awards shows, book launches and The Bingo, a monthly show filled with constant surprises and madcap fun. In his spare time, Bennett works on a variety of comedy related initiatives from Table Quizzes to This is Your Trial, an improv comedy courtroom show to his comedy cult, Not Quite Mass and Dungeons and Naggins, an interactive storytelling experience.
